BUT the best place is the one secret spot that gives you the biggest, fattest, most volume and the easiest to catch Bullfrogs in the least amount of time.........right? That is the wishful answer for anybody heading out hunting or gigging frogs or bullfrogs basically. But that isn't always the case and you usually have to put some effort into catching and hunting or gigging bullfrogs. So where is the best place to go frog gigging, well that is any fresh body of water with good vegetation and shallow banks at the basic level but we will get into more ideal places below as we talk you through where some of the best places to go frog gigging are.
When seeking out where is the best place to go frog gigging you have a lot of options. You literally don't have to go very far because as long as you have good warm or hot humid weather preferably at night and some fresh water that has some vegetation, you should find yourself some bullfrogs that you can go gigging for. You can hunt or go gigging during the day for bullfrogs but it is going to be easier if you do it during the night time dark hours. Bullfrogs are out of their cold weather "hibernating" when the outside temperatures warm up and and so does the water temps. All about this same time that the bullfrogs are out they are eating ALL of the time to survive and getting fat and plump and also they are out during the spring and early summer trying to mate with female bullfrogs. You can hear their matting calls as they are a very distinct very very bassy BELLO type sound. It's not your typical ribbit ribbit croaking sound that you think of from frogs.
Keeping all of the above in mind and adding to that literally any wet, marshy, pond, still water, slower flowing river, lake or something simular that has plenty of vegetation and or growth or lillies etc etc will be a place looking at. Usually he larger the water area the better as you will have more real estate for the frogs to live and mate and reproduce. Also you can head out pre hunting or gigging and just take a good spot light to shine around and look for the bullfrogs glowing eyes and also for the famous bullfrog BELLOW call and this will give you an indicator about how populated that area is or is not.

If you venture to a river the frogs will most likely be on the shore and banks because the water current would be too fast for them to hunt in. If you are gigging smaller areas or water you may kind of hunt the frogs out of population, so move around or find some of the larger bodies or water so that you know that there is always a fresh supply of BIG bullfrogs for the taking.
