Well most folks that eat frog legs eat American Bullfrogs because they have huge back legs that are full of big fat thick meat and more so on larger jumbo bullfrogs.  Bullfrogs are the largest frogs in the States and that means that they have the largest hind legs for frog legs.  They can reach lengths from nose to vent of 8" plus and weigh in at up to 1.5 pounds each. There are some other frogs in the US States that folks eat but we won't cover those as they are such a small percentage.  Best to stick to what we know best with what kind of frogs can you eat and that is the American Bullfrog.

We suggest that you do your homework as with ay animal that you will hunt, kill and eat.  There are other kinds of frogs that you can eat but because we focus on frog legs eaten in the states, we are sticking to bullfrog legs.  You can literally go out your back door and find bull frogs in all 50 states during the summer.  You will find more bull frogs out and about in warmer climates like in the south where frog legs are eaten a lot.
If you ever want to know what kind of other frog legs that you can eat, be very careful because some frog species are protected  If you are out hunting or catching frogs to eat, we highly suggest that you 100% know what kind of frogs that you can eat and that you can take and eat them legally.  Out side of that, you can get sick or in trouble eating protected frogs for frog legs.
