What State Has The Most Bullfrogs?

Well there are no real statistics that show what state or states has or have the most bullfrogs. There physically has not been any kind of full state population counts in any of the USA 50 states that anybody that we have spoken to is aware of. There has been some smaller funded localized surveys that set out to see how many bullfrogs are in some smaller in state locations and if there are even any bullfrogs in some locations but as a state wide census, none exist.

Bullfrogs are invasive and an issue and they basically exist in every state in the USA with more in some states than others for obvious reasons like weather and geographic locations. Meaning you will find more bullfrogs in southern states with warmer weather vrs colder more northern states even though bullfrogs do populate states that border Canada and also live in Canada. Also you will find more bullfrogs on flat land vrs up high in the mountains of the Rockys. So you can kinf of rule some states out when it comes to thinking about what state has the most bullfrogs.

So again the question here is what state has the most bullfrogs........the answer you would think is easy but maybe don't be so quick to guess the southern states like FL, GA, MS, LA, SC because that may not be true at all or there may be many equal states south, east and west. Those of you in the southern states would say that yes, we have the most bullfrogs vrs the rest of the USA states but you have to remember this. In the southern states where bullfrogs thrive and do well for many different reasons like abundant warm fresh water, hot temps, high humidity, low flat lands, plenty of foliage and vegetation to include plenty of food sources etc etc,.....BUT along with that comes MANY MANY natural predators of the bullfrogs.
What state has the most bullfrogs you ask, that is kind of a tricky weird
double ended question with just as much of a weird answer. Meaning that because of these many different predators that indulge themselves on bullfrogs (Snakes, Alligators, birds and any other mammal or animal that likes eating bullfrogs) and eat them as a regular part of their diet, these numbers may not be as much as you would think or could be because of these natural predators. NOW,............lets think of other more western states like....... lets say California, Arizona, New Mexico and some others that are on the warm side of things. Guess what, the bullfrogs don't have many predators like they would in the southern states. What does this mean, well as the bullfrogs reproduce, their numbers thrive more due to less natural predators that want to eat them. Also per state......California has A LOT of real estate, way more than any southern state, so by area, CA would have more bullfrogs as a state than a much smaller state like North Carolina, Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, Georgia etc et.
