ARE YOU A KNIT-WIT?

If you are, then you can skip this article! Otherwise, read on:

Apparel terminology can be baffling when all you want to do is order some polo shirts with your company logo. We offer a lesson on the basic knit varieties:

Pique (pi'kay): a mesh fabric consisting of tiny loops giving the shirt a textured surface. Best for embroidery rather than screen-printing.
Jersey: has a similar texture to a T-shirt. While embroidery is always recommended for polo shirts, this shirt can be screen printed very well.
Interlock: smooth surface achieved by knitting together two pieces of fabric to create a heavier more luxurious feel.
Waffle weave: knit pattern that produces a textured surface similar to a waffle-like pattern.

Fabric weight and sizing are important factors in your decision making process, too.

Frog Legs can take the confusion out of your shirt order. We can digitize your company logo, prepare it for screen-printing, or help you create an entirely new design if that is your desire.

When the shirt compliments pour in, you can claim to be the "knit-wit" who ordered them!

FROG TALK

Dear Frog Legs,

Q: I have a small business (for now). We want to establish corporate identity with apparel. Are there minimum size order requirements?

A: Yes, there are, for your benefit. While we can do one and two shirts, the cost can become quite expensive. The minimums make the costs reasonable.

Shirt orders start at one dozen and can be a variety of styles and sizes. This type of apparel is referred to as "flat goods" and is set-up for embroidery in the same way. Caps are set-up entirely differently from flat goods, which is why we do not mix them to meet the minimums. A minimum cap order is one dozen, also.

Dear Frog Legs,

Q: I would like to keep my company's name in front of my clients without being too obnoxious. What do you suggest?

A: Mousepads! The variety is staggering. You can choose size, thickness, colors, surface texture and some additional features such as wrist rests.

Every time your client uses their PC or Mac, they will think of you.

Post-it " Note Cubes! Everybody uses them and appreciates receiving them. For you, they are an attractive little billboard that contains your company logo as well as phone numbers and web site address. According to 3M Company stats, each page receives at least four viewings per use (that's 4x your advertising dollar!) and, Post-it " cubes are as popular as when the product first came out.

Frog Legs uses them and we will tell you our own stories about folks calling us because they saw our number on a Post-it " note!

THE OLD GRAY MARE, SHE AIN'T WHAT SHE USED TO BE.

But, she's wearing the big color this year. All the shades are represented: silver, ash, granite, graphite, and charcoal. Gray can influence other color families like blues, greens and naturals producing such colors as sea grass, glacier and driftwood. Grays mixed with vibrant colors will be featured in women's and men's wear designer markets. You'll find them matched with more traditional colors like navy and black for use in business wear.

Maybe the old gray gal would like to brighten her wardrobe with the addition of red, another important color this year. Bright fire engine reds to rich shades of burgundy can be paired with royal, yellow or orange and will be especially popular in outerwear. Pairing with navy and black is a combination that is safer for traditional corporate wear, however, you'll be dancing on the fashion edge when you mix red with neutrals like khaki, natural and gray jacquards.

Regardless of your color selection, we've got you covered at Frog Legs.

AND, while you're decorating that shirt follow a hot trend and include your company web site somewhere on the garment.

THEY MIGHT FORGET YOUR FACE, BUT THEY'LL NEVER FORGET YOUR MUG!

"People never throw a cup away," says Angie Greer, World Wide ® Art Studios. "Having a cup of coffee is a normal, everyday thing. You can't always buy your clients a cup of coffee (or tea) but you can give them a mug and buy advertising for yourself."

With a mug, you've got portable billboard space that is functional for your client, making it highly likely that your name will be seen by more potential customers than many other forms of advertising.
There are four trends that should be considered when using drinkware as part of an advertising program.

1. Be certain that emphasis is given to using more color and complex graphics. Grab the client's attention and hang on to it.
2. Use drinkware as an add-on for events. Event cups become keepsakes and beverages can be served at all promotional events.
3. Use drinkware as an extension of lifestyle. More traditional styles are giving way to insulated and commuter-oriented types. Thermal mugs have a larger capacity and provide a greater space for advertising.
4. Unique sizes and shapes demand attention and enhance your advertising message.

Give Frog Legs a call, and we'll make your mug UNFORGETTABLE!

T-SHIRTS, HOW MANY DO YOU NEED? (ONE MORE!)

"Americans love T-shirts because they're comfortable, inspirational, and timeless," says President Joe Irwin, Jerzees Co.

Did you know?

  • Sixty two-percent of Americans own more than 10 T- shirts. Do the math!
That's approximately 1.5 billion tees in closets and drawers across the country. 70% are men and 54% are women.
  • Generationally, 79-percent of 18 to 24 year-olds have more than 10 tees and 19-percent own 30 or more.
  • Americans adore the basic white tee. 34% of survey respondents listed it as their favorite.
  • Ninety-seven percent of survey respondents have a T-shirt that they would never part with.
  • The number one reason Americans love T-shirts: comfort.
  • The second reason for choice of a favorite tee: pleasant memory of a place, person, or occasion.

GOOD NEWS ABOUT CHOCOLATE!
(Like there's any bad news&)

It has been discovered, by researchers in the Netherlands, that chocolate contains "catechins" which is a type of antioxidant. Antioxidants protect cells from damage and, in turn the body from disease.

Dark chocolate appears to contain four times the catechins found in black tea, which has been found in Asian studies to lower rates of heart disease and cancer. Other studies show that cocoa, also containing antioxidants called flavonoids, may reduce the risk of heart disease. And, it may just make you feel like a happier person in the long run.
Frog Legs can help you protect your client's health! Give them chocolate! We have wonderful chocolate in just about any form imaginable. You can pass out your business cards in chocolate, give chocolate coins containing your logo or perhaps a chocolate CD appropriately contained in a jewel case.
How about wooden gift boxes with your words of thanks or corporate logo fire branded into the lid? After your clients have improved their health, they will keep the box, and remember you, fondly.

Give Frog Legs a call for your good health and well-being!
